Identify UK pollinators with this FREE guide
Get out this summer to hone your pollinator spotting skills with this BBC Wildlife poster.
Britain’s pollinators are incredibly important little creatures.
They provide a vital fertilisation service to many of our native wildflowers and crops, transferring pollen from bloom to bloom by trapping it in the hairy filaments of their bodies or on their wings.
Britain is home to some 1,500 pollinating insects and they come in all shapes and sizes, from the dazzling elephant hawkmoth to the humble drone-fly.
Here are 32 species to spot in the summer months – many of which you can tempt to your garden with some pollinator-friendly planting.
