Roby Milling - Enjoying life - in all its forms on my patch

Birds do it, bees do it, even educated sawflies do it. Yes, sexual reproduction is popular, everywhere you look, living organisms are well and truly 'at it'.

An interesting 'counter factual' might be to consider how different the patch might be if there were no sexual reproduction - how would the world be with just aphid-style, asexual reproduction.....

Great blog Phil, really enjoyed reading it and great pics too.

I could really relate to taking your camera and not having a memory card in it ... I've done that so many times !

Anyway, nice blog and look forward to additional updates.

Very kind, thanks a lot

It's like when I take a flask out so I can have a cup of coffee, with a picnic. I just have to remember coffee, sugar, milk, spoon, water - I'll invariably forget one of them!

My 'vig migging' season starts off excellently with just one (but important) drawback.

There's always something interesting going on, however.

Green Woodpecker vigorously pecking at the weasel’s head. It looked like it was taking revenge for having previously been joy-ridden by a weasel!!
