Beautiful green-winged orchids at Bernwood Meadows this morning. I love it when the orchids start to flower! Take a look at www.bugmadgirl.blogspot.co.uk

I found 30+ bird's-nest orchids and the first buds of chalk-fragrant and common spotted orchids on my walk this morning. I also spotted my first common blue butterflies of the year. Take a look at www.bugmadgirl.blogspot.co.uk

I spent a wonderful morning at Yoesden, my favourite nature reserve. The orchids were starting to flower and there were Adonis, small and common blues all flying.

We had our first go at moth trapping in our new house (and garden) this weekend. There are lots of hairy legs, hairy faces and some pretty spectacular moths lurking out there!

It wasn't what we expected to be doing for day 1 of #30DaysWild, but we ended up being interviewed by Carol Kirkwood on BBC breakfast this morning. What a fantastic, wild and totally terrifying way to kick off this year's 30 Days Wild!

For #30DaysWild day 2, a watched caterpillar never pupates (except for this one!) Our caterpillar icicles turned into gold-dusted bats and Bug Mad Girl caught the moment on camera.

We had a lovely day at the Wild Fair at Oxford Natural History Museum for #30DaysWild day 3. We made seed bombs, cuddled bees and Bug Mad Girl's little brother got his revenge, feeding her to a dinosaur!

Over half term, we made a pond for #30DaysWild. It's less than a week old, so we were thrilled to see a red damselfly laying eggs in it today!

I walked through beautiful orchids for #30DaysWild day 7. The very rare musk orchids that grow there were just starting to flower.
