Camera trap footage of wild Sumatran tigers

Hi everyone,

Today I was checking the "news" section of 21 Century Tiger website, and came upon two beautiful new clips of Sumatran tigresses with cubs, taken in Kerinci Seblat National Park.

Here is a link:

Also, their blogs have very interesting stories from the field. They support several tiger protection and monitoring projects: in Kerinci Seblat and Berbak for Sumatran tigers, in Russia and China for Amur tigers, and a joint project with Freeland foundation in eastern Thailand for Indochinese tigers.

Some more news

The second project of ZSL/21 Century Tiger in Sumatra, the one in Berbak National Park, has yielded a video of a wild Clouded leopard. The video can be seen here:

A number of tigers have also been photographed by camera traps in Berbak. Still photos:

In Thailand, Freeland and David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation are actively protecting Indochinese tigers in one of only a handful of sites where they still exist. A camera trap photo:

Dear friends,

I've just learned that trouble is brewing up again in Kerinci Seblat. This National Park, the largest on the island of Sumatra, home to incredible biodiversity, including one of the largest remaining tiger populations in the world, is about to be invaded. A road network is proposed for the park, which is likely to result in logging, poaching, encroachment and fragmentation of this exceptional forest area.

The conservation community is mounting a a last desperate attempt to stop this madness. If you wish to help, please read more about this on Ms. Debbie Martyr's blog:

Thank you.
