Painting the sky with birds

Postby Dawn Monrose » Sat Dec 20, 2014 11:20 am

The first post I'd like to share with you is about trying to photograph a local Starling murmuration, and ending up watching an incredible Rook roost instead...

Hi Dawn,

Lovely post and great photos. Hoping to visit Redgrave and Lopham Fen this coming spring, until then I look forward to more glimpses into the reserve through your camera lens.

If you ever venture further south into Suffolk, I would recommend Lackford Lakes and Bradfield Woods - great places for nature shots and a fair few lovely walks too!

Keep posting!

Quite agree! Beautiful photos in here and a lovely break from looking out of the BBC Wildlife window at the view of a rather grey cityscape.

Look forward to reading more!

Thanks both, very much appreciated!

Lackford Lakes is a great reserve, a friend of mine volunteers in the centre there, I really must visit soon. Not been to Bradfield Woods for many years, but once saw a beautiful herd of Fallow deer in there.

Can't wait until Sprng on the fen, the reedbeds literally buzz with birds, a brilliant time to visit, hope you enjoy your visit Casey.

Thanks again!

I know what you mean about photographers only ever sharing their best work, and how it can have a demoralising effect on beginners! It's the same with any creative endeavour, I suppose. For example, we shouldn't be put off writing a novel for the first time because the quality of a best-seller blows us away, when that's the product of years of experience, failed attempts, painstaking editing etc.
