Moderation

Is the forum moderated at all? Its pretty frustrating when you log on and most of the new posts are just spam. Does the report post button work?
Sorry to complain but the forum has few enough posters as it is, we really need to attract genuine new members and its got to be pretty offputting for people who are tempted to join when they see that most of the activity comes from spammers. I generally browse on my phone during the day and its got to the stage where I don't even bother coming to this forum because its not worth spending the time waiting on my phone to load it up (no 3G signal out here in the wilds :D ) just to be greeted with spam.

Sorry to be a bore! On another topic are there any plans to try and boost the forums profile?

Well i totally agree with you, I know they are busy but some sort of moderation would help stop the spam. Even if its just to delet spam as it arrives :x :x

To be fair to the moderators (if they exist :D ) I recognise that it must be a really difficult time consuming job! Its just that it is really important especially in the early days of trying to build (or rebuild) a community when the signal to noise ratio can be so low!

Things do seem to have got a wee bit better so kudos to those working hard in the background. Just a wee aside, does the report post button work? I reported loads of posts a few weeks but it didn't seem to lead to anything?

More spam I wonder how long after the repored post is removed
And the job is not that consuming in here where there are not many daily posts, I moderate on a forum with about 6 others where there are about 100+ poasts daily with more foul mouthed people due to the nature of the site but is easily delt with
