Easter holidays

Postby Appletonwildlifediary » Fri Apr 21, 2017 8:39 pm

It's been a bit of a mixed holiday, our hedgehog returned, a quick visit to Westonbirt Arboretum, I did a short piece on local TV on 'blogging about nature' and I had some of my Badger footage used on BBC South Today.

Fox cubs

Postby Appletonwildlifediary » Thu May 11, 2017 3:36 pm

Almost a second part to my last blog, now it's the turn of the fox cubs.
Barely taller than the Bluebells themselves, three fox cubs play while their mother watches over them.
I slowly creep closer until I’m hiding behind a tree trunk that conveniently splits into two giving me an ideal viewing point.
Please click on the link and take a look at my blog, including a couple of YouTube clips.

Bug hunting for 30 days Wild

Postby Appletonwildlifediary » Thu Jun 01, 2017 1:20 pm

The first day of 30 Days Wild and I thought I would go looking for insects.
Not something I'm good at identifying.
My favourite of the morning was the Thistle gall fly.
