A Wander through the floods of the Ouse Valley. Photo heavy post

I was filled with tricky decisions as I looked across the Ouse Valley, the sun not having broken the horizon. My regular routes appeared to be underwater. I should have worn my boots.

1st Jan Walk

Postby beolens » Tue Jan 02, 2018 12:27 pm

Yesterday's first walk, was also a patch walk. Managed 52 species, and 4.03 miles of walking :)

Heavy rain in the morning had left huge puddles, and I expected some flood waters so donned my wellies, waterproof trousers & waterproof coat, and headed out.

Chasing Sunset

Postby beolens » Thu Feb 01, 2018 10:01 am

An evening walk around the Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve and Ouse Valley

Seeing the sky on fire, as our life providing sun, slowly sinks into the horizon, lifts the spirits. The plethora of colour spreading out across the clouds. Reds, oranges, purples, blues, hues throughout their ranges. Watching a sunset is something we should all do more often (at least once a month in my opinion) and what better way to #GetOutside.

Chasing Jack Snipe

Chasing Jack Snipe at Stony Stratford Nature Reserve in Milton Keynes

Yesterday morning I decided to make a, rather chilly, journey down to see it. Now I used to count the nature reserve as part of my patch, but very rarely get down there.

Swans Stonechat and Stuff

Postby beolens » Thu Feb 22, 2018 8:39 pm

A mainly photographic post.

I promised a post the other day on twitter that I just haven’t had time to write. It was from my walk on Tuesday, it’s now Thursday evening so I thought I should knock something up. I’ll be honest, this will mainly be a post for the photos I took. But here it is anyway Swans Stonechats and Stuff.
