A trip to Pagham cut short!

Postby Myathebirder » Tue May 02, 2017 7:45 pm

At the weekend I visited Pagham Harbour in West Sussex again. Although the fact I got soaking wet I managed to see Avocet, Ringed Plover and Wheatear! The Wheatear I saw proved particularly hard to photograph but I eventually got a photo of the female, which you can see on my blog...

Brilliant visit to Rye!

Postby Myathebirder » Tue Jun 06, 2017 5:56 pm

A couple of weeks ago I visited Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and I wasn't dissapointed! Oystercatcher, little terns, common terns and black-headed gulls all where on nests or had chicks! Common terns also dived into the sea metres from me as I ate my lunch!

30 days wild!

Postby Myathebirder » Sat Jun 17, 2017 8:54 pm

So far this month I have been taking part in 30 days wild, a challenge run by the Wildlife Trusts. I have recently written a couple of blog posts on what I have been up to, including twitching the elegant tern at Pagham Harbour and visiting my local parks.

Lifer at Ashdown Forest!

Postby Myathebirder » Thu Jun 29, 2017 7:04 pm

At the weekend I went to Old Lodge Nature Reserve in Ashdown Forest where we went for a lovely walk. I managed to see a family of great spotted woodpeckers and stonechats as well as a spotted flycatcher, a lifer!

First Blog in a while!

Postby Myathebirder » Thu Oct 26, 2017 5:57 pm

Apologies for the lack of posts recently, I have been busy with school work and haven’t got round to blogging. Today’s blog is about an autumnal visit to RSPB Pulborough Brooks, where I finally managed to see Ruff! It’s a bit of a different style of blog to usual as I have tried to focus more on improving my nature writing to make my posts more interesting, hope you like it!

A wildlife-filled weekend!

Postby Myathebirder » Mon Apr 16, 2018 7:00 pm

This weekend I went bird ringing at Cissbury Ring in Findon and made a visit to RSPB Pulborough Brooks. My highlights were seeing my first ring ouzel as well as a great white egret.
