New blog post up!

What a weekend! This has been a fabulous bank holiday weekend down here in Devon - plenty of nature spotting to write about, but let's start by talking about the wildflowers! Goodness what a difference a few weeks makes! The hedges are bursting with colour - https://ithinkisawanotter.wordpress.com ... k-holiday/

Some beautiful little butterflies gracing the unmetalled roads of South Devon in the sunshine last weekend - gave me a great opportunity to get up close :)

So, I have had a bit of a break for a few weeks but am really excited about the next couple of posts I have lined up as I will have a bit more time to get out and explore wild Devon :)
In the meantime though the wildlife is coming to me at the moment - with this blog inspiration coming from my own garden where I found a slow worm this week. Read the blog post here: https://ithinkisawanotter.wordpress.com ... 5/25/slow/

I also failed to post two previous blogs to this forum, but on my blog you can also read about robins: https://ithinkisawanotter.wordpress.com ... mond-cake/
and bats:

That's all for now :)

Yet more reptiles! How lucky am I?

Yes, my tiny garden has produced a second reptile in as many weeks. This is exciting because it is none of the things I thought a reptile friendly garden had to be. It is not particularly sunny, it is small, it has damp corners, no rotting compost heap and there is a nosy black cat in residence. But they are still here!

So here you go - my little blog on the common lizard: https://wordpress.com/post/ithinkisawan ... ss.com/359

While this blog post doesn’t feature any living animals it was surprisingly calming to study the skeleton I found.

So there are a few posts to catch up on here as I managed to lock myself out of my account. The good news is I have been really excited about 30 Days Wild so I have lots to write about including some reptiles and other garden wildlife, some overseas wildlife watching in Venice and getting stuck into ecology surveying back in the heart of Devon - bats and otters on my doorstep - what could be better?

Happy blogging everyone!
