Hello all! I'm an Ecology student based in Cambridgeshire and I've started a new wildlife blog showcasing the extraordinary nature we can discover in our ordinary lives, no matter how busy we are. Here's my intro to the blog and new material will be coming soon - I hope you enjoy!

Nuthatches were once thought to be strictly monogamous but there's a sneakier side to their personalities. Find out about how their marital bliss isn't all it seems in my latest post.

In my latest blog find out which plant is a wolf in sheep's clothing, distracting us with its magnificent flowers while taking over native woodland:

In my latest post meet my new colleague, a peacock who's just looking for that special someone, and find out about the fascinating mating rituals of this marvellous bird:

I was lucky enough recently to get up close and personal with a charismatic rare mammal that I have been trying to see for years - the red squirrel! My latest post includes notes on their ecology, conservation and some of the best places to spot them on the Isle of Wight.

Over the last few months I've had the fantastic opportunity to survey invertebrates at a wetland restoration project in process, Ouse Fen in Cambridgeshire, but invertebrates aren't the only thing that has caught my eye. I've been getting closer than ever before to a very special and relatively rare bird, the booming bittern. Read more about it here: https://wildsnippets.wordpress.com/2018/07/26/a-wetland-boombox/
