On this week’s video we look at 5 species that make incredible journeys all over the world. From a species that groups together in their millions to travel to a bird that migrates 2.4 million km in it’s lifetime!

It's World Wildlife Day! A day to celebrate wildlife and to highlight issues threatening some amazing species. My blog today is about extinction, and how it has become the new normal? But how normal really is it?

There is a new video on my blog, and it is the start of a new series, combining my two loves, animals and geography. Starting with the fascinating Snow Leopards of Afghanistan.

Seaworld is ending captive breeding of orcas! The news last week was very important and certainly a step in the right direction. Here is my blog about what this means for wild whales and my experience with wild orcas compared to captive.

I decided to do a small video discussing some of the reasons I love wildlife. It is something that actually you do not hear people talk about very much, and to be honest something I had not thought about it great detail. So I did this video, and hope to have some more from various people about why they love wildlife. If you want to get involved then please let me know!

This past weekend I left the comfort of the city (and my patch) and journeyed west to the beautiful town of Tofino. I blogged about my time on the wild west coast!

I realised I did not update my blog on here! So today I have two updates, firstly a blog looking at ideas for the Wildlife Trusts 30 days wild campaign, and the importance of getting a little bit of daily nature. And secondly a bit from my visit to some magical meadows!

My latest blog on why I think that the National Environment Research Council should embrace Boaty McBoatface, environmental science needs the publicity. Do you agree?

What a difference the time of day makes! Last week I put up bird boxes for my work, and encountered a number of new species on the bird and wildlife sanctuary. Having never been there in the evening it was fascinating to see how different the wildlife is after just a few hours!
