The Waterland... Norfolk Broads Wildlife and Landscapes

Postby broads explorer » Fri May 13, 2016 3:04 pm

Hello everyone,

I am writing to introduce my new blog - 'The Waterland', which is about the Norfolk Broads.

http://thewaterland.com

This is my first blog and, at the time of writing this, I don't know very much about nature and wildlife, which isn't a very good start really! However, I do love being out in the wild and I love the Norfolk Broads.

I have been content to just 'be' out in nature, but as I get older I have a growing feeling that I should learn more about the wonderful life all around me. The purpose of the blog is to explore and learn about the landscapes, wildlife and flora and fauna of the Broads and also to try to show people what makes the Norfolk Broads so special.

I really welcome all feedback, criticism and corrections.

Best wishes,
John

My first post was about a Marsh Harrier near the Broadland village of Barton Turf...

My second post was about seeing (and trying to photograph!) amazing swallows flying low and fast over Barton Broad...

My third post is a little more about the geography of the Broads, and finding a wonderful place to moor that I've taken the liberty to call 'Goose Cove'

For my 4th post, I thought I would try to put together some footage I've taken recently to try and show what it is about the Norfolk Broads I love so much...

PS, anyone know a way to embed a video into a post?

Hello everyone,

In my attempt to learn more about nature, I try to identify the wildflowers I find during a walk near the Broadland village of Ludham.

I hope I got them right! If not please do let me know.

This weeks blog post features aerial sunsets, mechanical birds and memories that just might be time travel...
