A quick story of a fantastic evening hosted by Nick Baker and Notts Wildlife Trust discussing the State of Nature in the UK, at Idle Valley Nature Reserve. A long discussion filled with thought-provoking angles on how to conserve our wildlife.

Week 3 bird sightings for 2017. What a week! A marathon of 3 nature parks in three days, topped off by a rather territorial heron encounter over nest preparations. A thoroughly enjoyable few days

A fab couple of weeks of bird watching. Frosty mornings out ringing awarded by Brambling, Marsh tits and Coal tits. Dusky afternoons at Attenborough Nature reserve with Snipe, Teal, Red-crested pochard and a gorgeous sunset.

Nottinghamshire, you have been spoiling me this winter! Please take a look to see some of my shots and stories of these outings.

Waxwing lyrical!
A lifetime first, and a very uplifting experience seeing the waxwings on campus. A very nice break from all day lab work indeed!

Savouring every last drop. A blog inspired by these precious new hours of sunlight that have, and a peaceful evening's cycle to my patch, Wollaton park.

I shan't say too much here but just a quick link a video of the heron chicks I caught this week. Having never seen heron chicks at the nest before this was really exciting!!
