It's the end of the 1st quarter of the Garden Moth Scheme, so latest blog gives an update on the moths (or general lack of moths) in the Too Lazy To Weed garden. Hope the next quarter brings a few more moths!

Got off our sofas and went Out and About again - this time to Penny Hill Bank nature reserve in Worcestershire. More Green Hairstreaks, plus Dingy Skippers and best of all our first ever Slow Worm. A tiny little nature reserve tucked away, but well worth the visit. Latest blog post for more info:

Out and About again last weekend. Made the most of the sunshine with a trip to the Wyre Forest to see the Pearl Bordered Fritillaries. Lots of photos of said butterflies on latest blog post, with moths and wildflowers along the way.

Some confusion and some joy in the Too Lazy Garden this week. Our blue tits may or may not have fledged but our hedgehog is back!

30 Days Wild kicks off with my first act of "wildness" - a trip to see probably the oldest living thing I'll ever find - a 3000 year old Yew Tree. An absolutely amazing tree in a churchyard in Herefordshire. I would say words failed me, but I did manage to cobble enough together to post the first of the 30 Days Wild blogs, with a few photos and terrible video thrown in for good measure too.

Day 2 of 30 Days Wild and I was up BEFORE the crack of dawn - something that hasn't happened in a very long time! The dawn chorus was the lure - something I've been meaning to get up and listen to for ages and I must admit it was well worth the effort. Several very amateurish recordings of bird song on the latest blog - if anyone can enlighten me as to what I was hearing, I would be ever so grateful!

Day 3 of 30 Days Wild and I was hoping our bats would come out to play in the garden this evening, but tonight was not the night. Still I had a lovely relaxing evening lying on the grass waiting for them. I did manage to dig out a brief recording from a previous night, which hopefully shows that we do get Pipistrelles - but I'm happy to be corrected if this is not the case?
