Day 4 of 30 Days Wild and it was time for the Garden Bioblitz. Last time we did a bioblitz we got about 120 species - still identifying and totting up today's catch, but hoping we can beat that this time. An update so far on the latest blog post:

Day 5 of 30 Days Wild and a lovely walk at one of our local nature reserves, bursting with insects in particular the Beautiful Demoiselles. Plus a failed attempt to see an open air screening of Casablanca - unbelievably thwarted by the weather being too good! All on the latest blog post at:

Day 6 of 30 Days Wild and I went out for a walk on the farm where I work in Upton-on-Severn. It's an organic farm and full of wildlife - don't know why it's taken me so long to get out and have a look!

Day 7 of 30 Days Wild - and I was pottering the garden admiring the rainbow of colours we get from our many weeds, plus animals to co-ordinate! Did struggle to find an indigo animal, so there may have been a bit of artistic license employed in the latest blog post!

Day 8 of 30 Days Wild and had a great day today. Pub lunch sitting outside by a river with Demoiselles flitting by and walk at local nature reserve - Bodenham Lakes, with lots more damselflies, Canada geese and more! The perfect day.

Day 9 of 30 Days Wild and I went for a spot of strawberry picking (and eating) followed by a walk round one of my favourite local nature reserves - Boynes Coppice & Meadows. Lots of bees, hoverflies and Common Blue butterflies mating!

Day 10 of 30 Days Wild and it was our wedding anniversary. No being whisked off to Paris for us though, the evening was spent relaxing in the garden, wine chilling, BBQ fired up and bees and hoverflies buzzing all around us. Perfect!

Day 11 of 30 Days Wild and rain has prevented our planned butterfly spotting trip. So went with the flow and sought out rain loving animals instead - cue snail racing in the back garden. Latest blog complete with snail racing videos if you can stand the excitement:

Day 12 of 30 Days Wild and it's been all about the moths. This weekend has been Moth Night, so the traps have been out and the moths came in. Really chuffed to have got a couple of species of hawkmoth, plus lots of other interesting finds. Photos on latest blog post:

Day 13 of 30 Days Wild and the benefits of letting the grass and flowers grow on a roadside verge. A happy half hour spent insect spotting in a local verge bursting with life.
