Twigs & Finches

Postby Apithanny@hotmail.co.uk » Thu Apr 02, 2015 7:20 pm

This is my blog about a beautiful corner of Scotland, not far from the Cairngorm National Park. I spend a lot of time volunteering in Glen Tanar - one of the most beautiful places I know. Here I've been lucky enough to see some fantastic wildlife including Golden eagles, sea eagles and adders.

I also like to write about how much wildlife there is to see in the city. In Aberdeen we have red squirrels in our parks and dolphins in our harbour. There is nature everywhere for those who pay attention!

Here is my latest blog post about a little campaign I am running to stop the littering/flytipping at my local patch

Nobody wants to see litter when they are trying to watch beautiful birds and wildlife!

Allotments

Postby Apithanny@hotmail.co.uk » Thu Oct 20, 2016 9:17 pm

You don't need much space or a big budget to help pollinators. This is a short blog post about my "micro allotment" which I created to provide nectar, caterpillar food plants and of course some home grown food too. My allotment it situated next to a large pond so I've seen some great wildlife too - It's quickly becoming one of my favourite patches.

A link to my latest blog post all about sexton beetles! Insects often lose the limelight to "cuter" species so I'm trying to feature them more

Emperor Moths

Postby Apithanny@hotmail.co.uk » Mon Aug 07, 2017 10:20 am

My main interest is insects and so recently, I've been trying to feature them more on my blog. They play a vital role in all ecosystems but often lose the limelight to 'cuter' species.

Here is a post about emperor moths I reared this year:
