Welcome to the BBC Wildlife Local Patch Reporters project 2017. This is where you can report on the wildlife you see in your area and beyond and share your nature blog with others. It’s a great way to get involved with the BBC Wildlife magazine team.

For a chance appear in BBC Wildlife magazine, follow the 6 steps below:

1. Please read our Forum guidelines before posting:
2. Start a forum thread and give it the title of your blog (ie Jo’s Wildlife Blog)
3. Every time you post a new blog put a link to it on the forum thread you have already created by clicking ‘Post Reply’
4. Make sure you explain what the new blog is all about: tell readers why they should click and read it
5. Keep an eye on your forum thread and try to answer any questions that get posted on there
6. Have fun: when you’ve posted at least 5 updates we’ll consider you for Blogger of the Month

AND: At the end of the year we’ll be announcing awards for the best blogs of 2017.

If you took part in the project in 2016 you do not need to start a new forum thread. Please continue using the one you have already created.

Throughout 2016 we followed our readers’ wildlife adventures and celebrate our talented local patch bloggers. See the results of the BBC Wildlife Blogger Awards 2016:

Hi there, I have tried to start a new thread for my blog. I did this twice as I was unsure about getting it right. It's taken a long time to get approved. Can anyone help? Thank you, Young Fermanagh Naturalist (Dara McAnulty)
