Green sea turtles, black-tip reef sharks, marine iguanas and some very crimson flamingoes all feature in my little guide to Isabela. As ever, thank you for reading!

Blue Planet II ended its run last night, with a program about the threats facing the oceans. I've absolutely loved this series - but was a bit disappointed that they didn't talk about any tangible ways we can make a difference.

So I wrote a blog post, with six things everyone can do to save our oceans. Thank you, as always, for reading :)

Not so much a blog post as more of a public service announcement- I wrote something for New Nature! As both a primatologist and someone who's spent a lot of time in the Amazon, the rise of the wildlife selfie is something that I've been keeping a wary eye on. Not all wildlife selfies are bad- but they've been associated with the rapid spread of the animal photo prop industry, which heavily relies on taking things like slow lorises, sloths and snakes out of the wild and keeping them in terrible conditions as a tourist attraction.

The blog post is at https://stripytapir.wordpress.com/2018/ ... ew-nature/, or you can skip directly to the New Nature article at https://www.newnature.co.uk

Thank you, as always, for reading!
