I use my trail camera every week, over the past few years I've had surprises like a Polecat and some interesting badger behaviour.

Postby Appletonwildlifediary » Fri Jun 23, 2017 3:13 pm

For Day 22 of 30 Days Wild my sister and I challenged each other to see how many different flowers we could find in an acre, in the field next door to our house.

Big Butterfly Count 2017

Postby Appletonwildlifediary » Mon Jul 17, 2017 4:16 pm

The Big Butterfly Count is a really good way to monitor my local butterflies
https://appletonwildlifediary.wordpress ... ount-2017/

I find the white butterflies particularly hard to identify, with a little help I now know the butterflies in my photo are Green-veined white and Small white butterflies.

Questions from some budding young naturalists

Postby Appletonwildlifediary » Fri Jul 21, 2017 10:25 am

This week I’ve been really honoured to hear that a local primary school have been using my blog to help them learn about ‘living things and their habitat’ during their science lessons.

What was really amazing was the variety of questions and thought that has gone in to each question they have sent me to answer.
