Don't know if this has already been done and I missed it, but I would love to see an Attenborough type series done on UK wildlife.

Chris Packham, Bill Oddie and Alan Titchmarsh have all done programmes on British wildlife but I don't think there's been anything akin to a Attenborough type documentary.
The past is just that, the past. Today is what matters.

You higher mammal, can you read?

Inspired by a post in another thread on here, I'd love to watch a documentary about bizarre non-native species that have made their home in the UK.

Yeah that's right - they are mentioned here on this post which was my inspiration - I think it would be a fascinating watch on TV!

yeah I saw them in that post too :D

Sorry I was meaning that I think I saw something about them on tv, the presenter was using a UV light to illuminate them on walls and amongst rocks in a fishing port down south.

Hey Cabbage, in 1990, I got a Pseudoscorpion in the leaf litter from the Hermitage of Braid (Edinburgh). A true native species, looks like a mini-scorpion but without the tail. Neat little thing.... was amazed to get it so far north.

Now thats something I haven't seen I have to say! I do a wee bit of volunteering round the Hermitage of Braid so will have to keep my eyes open the next time I'm in! As a wee boy we used to look for Devil's Coachmen Beetles round the garden which we used to pretend were scorpions :D

I have seen a real scorpion only once and not in Britain. We were spending the night in a fairly primitive hut in Southern Morocco and I had the pleasure of sharing my sleeping space with a scorpion on one wall and a huge spider (Huntsman I think) on the other  Between the two of them I don't think I got a wink of sleep - I don't do too well with bugs and beasties!

Of course neither of them had any desire to bother me, I should have been more worried about the actual camel taking me out into the fringes of the sahara the next morning, which took great delight in turning round and biting me on the leg! I guess small Scottish children form a natural part of the camels diet.
