Win a holiday with September's podcast

Postby Ben » Sat Sep 13, 2008 9:40 am

Hi all

The latest podcast can be downloaded from our website here:
http://www.bbcwildlifemagazine.com/podcast.asp

This month we debate which animal we would like to see go extinct (yes, you read that right). We also discuss the latest wildlife news, and yours truly visits the Bird Fair at Rutland Water to talk exclusively to various wildlife celebrities, including Simon King, Jonathan Scott and Nick Baker.

Plus (cue drum roll) we are giving away a UK cottage holiday worth £500*. You'll have to listen to the podcast to find out how to enter the competition. As if you needed any tempting to listen in!

You don't have to take the holiday straight away, so hopefully the weather will have improved by the time the winner (together with family or friends) enjoy the break in their chosen cottage. There are over 9,000 properties to pick from, at www.cottages4you.co.uk

Enjoy!

*Many thanks to www.cottages4you.co.uk Terms and conditions apply - see the main BBC Wildlife website for more details.

'fraid not.

But to be honest, the fair is more about the people than the place - that's what gives it the real buzz. There are a lot of like-minded souls there, and that's great.

To look at, it's just a collection of marquees, lecture spaces, exhibitions and picnic areas arranged on the shore of Rutland Water, with lots of people wandering around!

[font="trebuchet ms"][size="2"]oh! i had a totally different image in mind.

on another note i think the last section of the podcast(the kick em out section) was interesting. I for one hated all 4 of the mentioned animals; especially pigeons.

I was forced as a teen to clean out our barn and it had this open area with a roost atop and an open floor where my aunt used to dry out paper(homemade) and during summers she used to force me to clean it up for her and I have to say theres nothing more vile than hardened pigeon poop on a wooden floor! lol. some of them would still be roosting and they'd fly all over the place and drop their feathers.... gives me goosebumps thinking back!

finally got around to listening, been swamped at work.

mosquitos definately need to go, i could go on and on about my loathing of this little creature for my personal resons and for global issues.

slugs while they mess up my sidewalk, don't bother me as much. I also love to touch their eye stalks to watch them go back in.

We have 6" + slugs on our sidewalk and they leave trails all over the place-fine, but when you have to watch your steps like walking through a mine field is another thing.
