Born and raised in Brazil, Michael Patrick O’Neill is an award-winning photographer and author specialising in marine wildlife.
He lives in Florida and, for the past 20 years, has travelled the world to photograph diverse aquatic habitats and document the impact of humans on marine species.
This gallery features the rare and Endangered Australian sealions of Hopkins Island, South Australia, frolicking in the shallows and resting on the beach.
Michael's images have appeared in BBC Wildlife, National Geographic, Newsweek, Smithsonian, and The New York Times. He has achieved recognition in prestigious photography competitons such as Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Pictures of the Year and Nature's Best.
