Matteos’s love for photography stemmed from the desire to ‘collect’ and classify the creatures he saw while hiking, without causing them any suffering.

Taking home a good shot of an animal he had encountered during a walk in the wilderness enabled him to keep that animal with him forever.

He has always been fascinated by reptiles and thinks photography can be a great way to show everyone their charm.

To do this, he shoots macro photos, and in particular wide angle-close ups with the subject contextualised in its natural habitat - a technique that is not easy to master!
