Sumatran orangutan photo gallery by Craig Jones
Photographer Craig Jones puts the plight of the Sumatran orangutan in the spotlight and highlights the great work that is being done to save the red ape.
Craig is a professional wildlife photographer and an experienced expedition and workshop leader.
He has been a finalist in Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2010, in the GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2011 and commended in the British Wildlife Photography Awards.
His recent expedition to Sumatra took him deep into the jungle, where he joined expert trackers working for the Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS).
SOS is a charity dedicated to the conservation of Sumatran orangutans and their forest home, and aims to protect and conserve the orangutan's habitat to safeguard the future of the species.
Craig says, "I hope my images from this trip give these Critically Endangered animals a voice and highlight what is happening to them."
