About the photographer
Japan-born Takako Uno is a full time marine photojournalist and co-author of An Ocean Odyssey and Gorontalo Hidden Paradise.
Takako’s images have appeared in dozens of books and photo exhibitions, including the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Natural History Museum and Ocean Views at Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
Her images have graced over 100 journals in 20 countries, including BBC Wildlife, National Geographic and GEO. In addition to her 30+ awards in international photo contests, Takako has discovered five new species of nudibranchs.
Takako was inducted as member of the prestigious “Ocean Artists Society”, founded by Wyland, Talbot & Harvey in 2009.
