Wildlife watching in Scotland
Join a trio of BBC Wildlife experts including Mark Carwardine on a wonderful wildlife-watching week in the Highlands.
TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
- Enjoy illustrated presentations and time in the field with Mark Carwardine, Laurie Campbell, Roy Dennis and Sir John Lister-Kaye
- Explore Caledonian pine forest and look for crested tits, black grouse, crossbills, twinflowers and orchids

MARK CARWARDINE
is a wildlife photographer, writer and BBC broadcaster, as well as being a respected zoologist and conservationist. Mark will join the holiday for two days.

LAURIE CAMPBELL
is one of Scotland’s leading natural-history and landscape photographers; his images have illustrated many books on the Highlands. Laurie will join us for two days.

ROY DENNIS
is a celebrated Scottish ornithologist, writer and photographer who works with the Highland Foundation for Wildlife. Roy will join the holiday for two days.

SIR JOHN LISTER-KAYE
founder of Aigas Field Centre, is one of Scotland’s best-known naturalists and writers on wildlife and conservation. Read more about his work in the December 2011 issue.

BBC Wildlife Editor will also be joining the holiday.

- Explore Caledonian pine forest and look for crested tits, black grouse, crossbills, twinflowers and orchids
- A dawn run to search for otters
- A mountain and glen day for golden eagles, black- and red-throated divers, ravens and red deer, sundews, butterwort and bog asphodel
- Visit peregrine breeding and osprey breeding sites
- Watch pine martens, badgers and beavers from the Aigas hides
- A loch and wetland visit for ospreys, waders and wildfowl
- Ecoventures boat trip to see bottlenose dolphins on the Moray Firth
- Visit the west coast to find sea eagles and great northern divers
- Discover the Aigas beaver demonstration programme
- An estuary visit for coastal and seabirds, guillemots, razorbills, waders, gulls, geese and ducks, as well as coastal flowers
- Every day you will be offered a short optional ranger-led walk around Aigas' wildlife rich grounds
