There are 18 regular cabins, set in a peaceful 10 hectare bush setting. Each has balcony views overlooking the sandy beach and sparkling waters of peaceful Stewarts Bay. You have the choice of one, two and three bedroom cabins. You also have the option of staying in one of 21 deluxe cabins, one or two bedroom, each with spas and king size beds.

Make use of the barbecue facilities and, of course, all the modern conveniences in your own kitchen. Other facilities include compact disc players, microwaves, and coffee and tea plungers.

Come and have a meal at Taylor's restaurant, a fully licensed and airconditioned restaurant with magnificent views. It is open 12pm til late daily.

This award-winning property is home to many native birds, animals and wildflowers. Wander around the secluded grounds, swim at the sheltered safe beach, fish or boat, play a round of golf at the magnificent local course. Enjoy a picturesque stroll along the coast to the famous Port Arthur Historic Site where you can easily spend a whole day, and in the evening experience a guided ghost tour.

It’s an excellent base for exploring the natural wonders of the Tasman Peninsula, pristine silver surf beaches and bushwalks through rainforest and along the rugged coastline, with spectacular cliffs and rock formations at Eaglehawk Neck. See a Tasmanian Devil and other wildlife at the Devil Park at Taranna.

The Islington Hotel

The Islington Hotel is an elegant 11-room 1847 Regency Georgian private hotel overlooking Hobart.

Each room has a distinctive character; there are seven downstairs rooms- two garden deluxe, four garden and a courtyard room, including a special services room configured for guests with disabilities. A number open onto the rhododendron and azalea gardens.

The main two-storey residence has four rooms, each decorated with Tasmanian antiques. The rooms are large with king or twin-bed options. The bathrooms have been modernised with crystal marble, special baths, separate showers, and a heated granite floor.

The grand entrance hallway extends into a library containing the works of Louisa Anne Meredith, known in the early colony for her writing and painting. There is a salon and a sunny morning room for relaxing and reading and on cool nights an open log fire crackles.

The central conservatory adjoins the country-style kitchen and opens onto a terrace. Beyond is the reflecting pool, pavilion and the grandeur of Mt Wellington.

Islington’s location in South Hobart, in one of the city’s oldest and established suburbs, makes it a perfect place when staying in Hobart; it takes around 20 minutes to walk into central Hobart.
