December 2011: The wonder of flight

Since the days of Icarus and before, we’ve gazed in envious awe at flying creatures – and now we want to see your images of winged wonders. Not just birds, but bats, insects, even gliding mammals – from garden songbirds to the buzzing bugs of tropical jungles, send in photos of your favourite fliers.


Each month the editor's favourite images are featured in the Your Photos pages of the current issue and the ones with the most votes may even be showcased in our two-weekly newsletter.


The editor's choice is final and correspondence will not be entered into.


The final date for submissions is 1 January 2012.


The final date for voting is 1 February 2012.


Don't forget that although you can only upload your images for a month, you can still vote for another month after that and encourage your friends to vote. All votes submitted by the final deadline will count.
