October 2011: Animal Families

This month, we’re looking for photos of happy animal families – mums and babies, siblings, babysitters, the lot.


It’s been a summer of new life and new beginnings, and by now numbers of wild birds and mammals in the British countryside are often at a peak before the hardships of winter set in.


So, wherever you are in the world, let’s celebrate animal family life together.


As last month, simply upload your photos and vote for the ones you like best. Due to the excellent quality of the images we receive, editor Sophie Stafford will select the winner from the 10 images with the highest votes. The winning image will become the icon for August's photo contest.


Each month the editor's favourite images are featured in the Your Photos pages of the current issue and the ones with the most votes may even be showcased in our two-weekly newsletter.


The editor's choice is final and correspondence will not be entered into.


The final date for submissions is 1 November 2011.


The final date for voting is 1 December 2011.


Don't forget that although you can only upload your images for a month, you can still vote for another month after that and encourage your friends to vote. All votes submitted by the final deadline will count.
