Enter the incredible world of the honeybee. The Visitor Centre is full of information, displays and activities which provide a fascinating insight into these amazing and important animals and their relationship with humans.
The stunning, glass observation hive enables you to watch, up close, the fascinating workings of a honeybee hive, whatever the weather or time of year. See the bees bringing nectar and pollen back to the hive, making honey, building honeycomb and doing their ‘waggle dance’. Visitors also regularly see baby bees emerging and the queen laying eggs.
Friendly, expert staff are always on hand to chat about bees and beekeeping.
Award-winning Honeybee Experience
If you are feeling adventurous you can book onto a ‘Honeybee Experience’. These last for approximately 90 minutes. You will receive an introduction to honeybees and beekeeping from an experienced beekeeper, after which you will be able to put on a beekeeping suit and get ‘up close and personal’ with the bees. Pre-booking is essential.
