Remembering Lions is the fourth book in the Remembering Wildlife series, a series of beautiful photography books that aim to raise awareness of the plight facing different animals.

"The history of lions has been entwined with mankind for millions of years and they are surely the most worshipped of all animals," says Margot Raggett, the founder of Remembering Wildlife.

"But, thanks to that same mankind that professes to revere them, their numbers have declined by half in merely the last quarter of a century alone. Wild lions are now just found in sub-Saharan Africa and a small pocket of India, with only around 20,000 left."

"The question that faces us, as with all of the Remembering Wildlife series, is whether we want this book to be not just a celebration, but also an obituary of this most romantic and legendary of species? Because right now, their very survival is in our hands."

The profits from the book series are donated to conservation projects, with previous projects including Wilderness Foundation Africa, Orangutan Foundation, Gorilla Doctors, and Bulindi Chimpanzee and Community Project.
