Launching today, a new YouTube series will help wildlife enthusiasts learn photography, presented by BBC Wildlife columnist and wildlife photographer Mark Carwardine.

The ‘Photography Masterclass with Mark Carwardine' series will feature a range of topics; sessions out in the field and interviews other wildlife photographers, advice using different equipment including camera traps, smartphones and photography hides, and focussing on specific groups and species such as garden birds and badgers.

“The BBC Wildlife Photography Masterclass is for everyone who loves wildlife photography - beginners and experts alike,” says Carwardine. “Packed with practical tips and tricks and fresh ideas, as well as interviews with top wildlife photographers around the world, it'll be inspiring, informative and lots of fun.”

In the first episode, Carwardine speaks to the award-winning Bristol-based wildlife and conservation photographer Sam Hobson, whose images have appeared in a variety of publications and competitions, including BBC Wildlife Magazine, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and British Wildlife Photography Awards.
