James Lowen is an award-winning author and journalist who writes about nature, conservation and travel. Alongside his magazine and newspaper work, James has written 13 books, two of which have been named Travel Guidebook of the Year: A Summer of British Wildlife and 52 European Wildlife Weekends. James loves championing the underdog, leading to two recent books on moths, notably the travel narrative Much Ado About Mothing. James is also an experienced editor of wildlife and travel guides (and runs Neotropical Birding magazine), a wildlife photographer (represented by FLPA and Alamy), a wildlife tour guide and an environmental consultant. In years past, he was both a tropical conservation biologist and a UK senior civil servant.
