Simon Barnes is a sports and wildlife writer, and is the author of a number of books including A Bad Birdwatcher’s Companion, How to be a Bad Birdwatcher, Ten Million Aliens, The Sacred Combe, The History Of The World in 100 Animals, as well as the recently published The Green Planet, which accompanies the BBC series presented by Sir David Attenborough. He is a council member of the World Land Trust, and a patron of Save the Rhino and honorary vice-president of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
