Meet the team
Group editor: Paul McGuinness
As the editor of BBC Wildlife, I’m lucky to spend my days with a talented team of knowledgeable and passionate wildlife fanatics.
This only serves to make me even more keen to seek out wildlife wherever I can. So when I’m not in the office, I can mostly be found out and about somewhere with my son looking to see what creatures and plants we can discover.
Managing editor: Sarah McPherson
I work with Paul to commission features.
When not in work, or cheering on my sons from the side of a pitch, I enjoy long walks and trips to the coast.
Production editor: Catherine Mossop
I am responsible for managing the production of both our print and digital issues each month. A major aspect of my role is sub-editing every page of the magazine to ensure the content is accessible, engaging and factually correct. Away from my desk, I enjoy exploring the Somerset countryside and visiting the Cornish coast as often as I can.
Group visual editor: James Cutmore
James is the Group Visual Editor for BBC Wildlife magazine, as well as its sister titles BBC Countryfile Magazine and BBC Science Focus Magazine. He has worked as a picture editor for over two decades, telling compelling science and nature stories through the use of striking imagery. He has judged for Nikon Small World, The Wellcome Trust, The Siena Photography Awards and the Royal Photographic Society.
Picture researcher: Lily Watts
Lily is the Picture Researcher across BBC Wildlife, BBC Countryfile Magazine and BBC Science Focus. In her Photojournalism degree, she specialised in social documentary reportage and has a keen eye for uncovering compelling visual narratives from fresh and thought-provoking perspectives. Outside of work, Lily likes to spend her time outdoors – whether that’s nurturing her garden or exploring nature on long hikes.
Group digital lead: Debbie Graham
Debbie is the Group Digital Editor of discoverwildlife.com and our sister title countryfile.com. Former veterinary nurse Debbie is passionate about animals and the countryside. Growing up in the Lake District, surrounded by animals, she likes nothing better than taking to the fells – via foot, bike or horse – accompanied by a dog, of course.
