In the Okavango Delta, Botswana, leopards, cheetahs and lions clash over territory and food. And these sagas are all documented in the BBC TV series Big Cats 24/7.

It’s returned for a second series, following familiar faces that we met in series one. One of the big cats we meet is Pobe, a cheetah who is successfully raising the next generation.

As the cameras roll through the night, Pobe has caught another meal for her growing cubs.

But as filmmaker and presenter Anna Dimitriadis says of the unfolding action, “It looks like she’s going into a weird stalk mode. She’s seen something… Oh God, I think that’s a leopard.”

Around 100 metres in front of her and the cubs, a male leopard is approaching, attempting to steal the food.

But will Pobe be able to chase him off, as well as keep the kill for her cubs?
