Snoozing polar bears among 5 stunning images from Wildlife Photographer of the Year People's Choice Award

Wildlife Photographer of the Year Nuveen People’s Choice Award winners announced, featuring sleepy polar bears, graceful flamingos and a very playful lynx.

The 2026 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Nuveen People’s Choice Award has been won by Josef Stefan, for his incredible photograph of a young lynx gleefully throwing its prey into the air in Ciudad Real, Spain.

Highly commended images from this year's competition include two bear cubs playing in the middle of a road and a gruesome shot of a sika deer carrying the severed head of a rival male.

The winner and four runners-up will be showcased on the voting screens in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum, London, until the exhibition closes on Sunday 12 July 2026.

The People's Choice Award is run by Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Natural History Museum, London, and is supported by Lead Corporate Sponsor, Nuveen.
