With 23 species, vultures are found on continents all around the world – apart from Australia and Antarctica.

Often referred to as ‘nature’s clean-up crew’, vultures have developed an association with death due to their scavenging nature. But these creatures actually play a vital function in the ecosystem by preventing the spread of disease when removing carcasses – even if some unsightly scenes unfold as they do it.
