Awaking early one morning in late June this year I headed down to one of the local beaches in Jervis Bay to photograph the sunrise, says award-winning photographer Jordan Robins

The last few days there had been some massive schools of Australian salmon along many of the beaches and on this particular morning they had formed a massive school at the beach I was photographing.

Seeing the water thick with salmon so close to the shore I sent the drone up to film them from above. After tracking the school for a few minutes, all of a sudden out of no where the school parted and a Great White Shark emerged from underneath them.

I could hardly believe what I was seeing. It was a decent sized shark it would have been close to 4m long to the very tip of its tail. Hands shaking with adrenaline I tried to steady myself as best as possible so I could capture some smooth footage of the shark swimming amongst the salmon.

This was a very brief moment, it swam amongst the salmon for only about 1 minute before it left them and headed out into deeper water in the bay. This was one of those fleeting moments in nature where I happened to be in the right place at the right time.

It would have to be up there with one of the most incredible wildlife encounters I have experienced.
