"The most transcendent wildlife experience”: ocean safari stumbles upon thousands of diamond-shaped rays

The enormous fever of rays was spotted off the coast of Mexico.

Wildlife watchers on an ocean safari in Mexico captured the insane moment thousands of mobula rays all swam together off the coast of Cabo San Lucas.

“The ocean keeps it real,” says Alexander Schmidt, founder of Apex Ocean Divers on Instagram. He says boat trips like these aim to find “the ultimate marine life.”

As well as “thousands of mobulas,” they also sometimes see “a rare mix of marine giants – blue whales, orcaspilot whales and more – in one of the only spots in the world with such a diverse cast of big animals,” he adds.

Other people agreed that seeing these elegant rays dance through the water together can be an enchanting sight.

“The most transcendent wildlife experience of my life was snorkelling with mobulas,” says My Adventure Maven in the comments. “I would live those two days again and again. They are magical!”
