A wildlife photography guide was shocked when a pair of cheetahs arrived at a bird hide and decided to strike a pose.
“Big surprise!” says wildlife photographer Alex Brackx on Instagram. “This was the first time cheetahs were seen at this bird hide in South Africa.”

Although there is a pane of glass between the cheetahs and the guests, the close-up encounter is heart-stopping. “Nope” commented one follower while another added “Dinner and lunch.... eeek”.
The curious cats reportedly stayed around the hide for 20 minutes, giving Brackx – who is a photography guide for Wildpixtravel – the perfect opportunity to take magazine-worthy profile photos of the cheetahs. In his arresting close-up shots, the felines are staring right into the camera.
Despite his extensive experience photographing wildlife, even Brackx was blown away. He adds: “What a moment!”
