Rescuers in Australia have successfully freed a humpback whale which was entangled in fishing gear off the coast of New South Wales.
When the entanglement was reported, a rescue team from Sea World Foundation went out looking for the animal. By the time they found the whale, the light was fading fast so they tracked it with a satellite tag to allow them to return and continue the rescue the next day.
It took two days to remove all the fishing gear and the whale sped off to freedom at a speed of around four to six knots.
