How to watch Prehistoric Planet

The second David Attenborough programme on dinosaurs this year will air on Apple TV+ in a one-week special event, with a new episode available to stream each day.

When is Prehistoric Planet on TV?

The first episode of Prehistoric Planet will be available to stream on Apple TV from Monday 23rd May. A new episode will be released each day in a five-day event between Monday 23rd and Friday 27th May.

This follows Attenborough's BBC One programme Dinosaurs: The Final Day, with David Attenborough which airs in mid-April, that focuses on the day that the asteroid hit Earth and wiped out dinosaurs and many other species.

What is Prehistoric Planet about?

Produced by BBC Studios, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, executively produced by Jon Favreau (actor, director and creator of The Mandalorian), and with an original score by Hans Zimmer, Prehistoric Planet is a new Apple TV series which follows computer-generated dinosaurs in the Late Cretaceous period (66 million years ago).

It's described as "a one-of-a-kind immersive experience", and features a range of species from "eye-opening parenting techniques of the Tyrannosaurus rex, to exploring the mysterious depths of the oceans and the deadly dangers in the sky".

Who is David Attenborough?

Sir David Attenborough is a world-renowned conservationist, presenter, narrator, and author. His recent programmes include Dinosaurs: The Final Day, with David Attenborough, Dynasties II, Attenborough’s Wonder of Song, and Attenborough and the Mammoth Graveyard.

Who is Hans Zimmer?

The original musical score comes from the German-born renowned composer Hans Zimmer, who recently won an Oscar at the Academy Awards and his first-ever BAFTA for his score on Denis Villeneuve's Dune. Zimmer has written music for a variety of films, including Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, Inception and The Lion King, as well as other natural history documentaries with Sir David Attenborough such as Planet Earth II, Blue Planet II and Seven Worlds, One Planet.
