Formidable, brutal power of crocodiles revealed in staggering slow-motion video

Dramatic footage shows two Nile crocodiles colliding in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park.

The Nile crocodile is Africa's largest crocodilian, growing up to six metres in length and, in some cases, weighing more than half a tonne.

These enormous ambush predators live in rivers and freshwater wetlands, where they feed on a range of prey, from fish, frogs and crabs, to wildebeest, antelope, zebras, birds and even hippos.

Nile crocodiles can be found throughout sub-Saharan Africa, including in Tanzania. This astonishing footage shows two adults fighting in a river in Serengeti National Park, a vast landscape of savannah plains, rivers and rocky outcrops in the north of the country.
